Former Brewers announcer Markas passes away
January 5th, 2010 | by adamburnett |The Los Angeles Angels TV play-by-play man Rory Markas has passed away at the age of 54. Markas had a distinguished broadcasting career working for mostly in the Los Angeles market as a news anchor/reporter and announcer for the Trojans and Clippers. Markas served as the substitute radio announcer for the Brewers radio network from 1984-1994 and was the Brewers TV voice from 1992-1994 with Del Crandall. Jim Paschke had stints as the Brewers play-by-play announcer before Markas. He had returned to the Angels’ booth this past season after suffering a blood clot in his brain in November 2008.
