Brewers on the verge of signing Randy Wolf
December 8th, 2009 | by adamburnett |Multiple media outlets are reporting the Brewers are on the verge of signing free agent southpaw Randy Wolf to a multi-year deal. He went 11-7 with a 3.23 ERA in 34 starts with the Dodgers. Wolf goes after hitters and as evidenced by his 160 strikeouts last season. He allowed 24 homers, but 15 were solo shots. One of the main concerns throughout his career is only 4 campaigns over 200 innings during his 11 year career. The 214 1/3 innings last year is a career high and his first 200 inning campaign since 2003. His career high in wins is 16 from the 2003 season. For his career he’s 101-85 with a 4.13 ERA. Wolf grades out as a solid number 2 or 3 starter. Wolf is 33 years old and was searching for a multi-year deal after working on a one year deal with the Dodgers. He’s played with the Phillies, Dodgers twice, Astros, and Padres.
